Scaleway Lifts RISC-V to the Clouds

French CSP wants everyone to live in a parallel neoverse.

French cloud-services provider Scaleway rents RISC-V access for €16/month. The systems employ the T-Head (Alibaba) TH1520, a quad-core processor integrating multimedia functions, a GPU, and an NPU along with four C910 CPUs. The C910 performs on par with the Arm Cortex-A72. The Scaleway offering could appeal to hobbyists and professional developers looking to experiment with RISC-V for several months. For longer term use, customers will find it more economical to simply buy a TH1520 card. They sell for less than $200 on AliExpress.
